Truffle's Guide to Stylish Easter Tablescaping

Gingham Easter Tablescape with Velvet Eggs

Easter is an excellent time to get creative with your tablescaping. This is your chance to adorn your table (and home!) with pretty pastels, fresh flowers and fun, seasonal accessories and decorations that will bring spring into your home.

Read on for our ultimate guide to creating the perfect Easter tablescape.

Easter Trends

Colour: Classic, spring colours are still the biggest hit at Easter time. A range of pastels mixed together or a base of white with pops of fresh green are ideal for this time of year.

Pattern: This year, as with last year, ginghams are big news and are perfect for Easter. A stylish gingham tablecloth, runner and/or napkins (layer up or choose one hero piece) in a pretty spring colour are a great way to form the basis of your Easter tablescape.

Accessories: We find our customers are enjoying adorning their homes with fun, seasonal accessories throughout the year. This year we will be using soft flocked bunnies and our luxury oversize velvet eggs to decorate our table and mantle. A few bunnies in different heights can be placed down the centre of your table and velvet eggs can be displayed clustered together, placed within an Easter wreath or used at each guest place on top of a napkin.

Wreath: A wreath (fresh, dried or feathers (our favourite this year!)) placed flat in the centre of your table can be filled with eggs (real or decorative) or with a glass hurricane holding a pillar candle.

Bud vases: Place a table runner down the centre of your table and top with a trail of mini bottles or bud vases displaying spring flowers. Intersperse with standing bunny accessories and candle holders for a pretty, country look.

DIY centrepiece: As well as decorating Easter eggs to be displayed on your table (these would work well placed in pretty bowls), children can get involved by baking an Easter cake (perfect as a table centrepiece during your Easter meal) or individual biscuit favours to be used at each guest place. The biscuits can be decorated to match the tablescape colour scheme (or write guest names on them), placed into cellophane bags and tied with a ribbon for the finishing touch.

Candles: We love candles at all times of year. This year, we’ll be using tapered candles in an array of pastel hues displayed along the length of the table.

Don’t forget to repurpose your table décor throughout the home after the meal has ended. Easter accessories, flower displays and candles are perfect for adding to mantlepieces, cabinets, coffee tables, consoles, drawers and neat little corners in bathrooms or kitchens.

Have a very happy Easter from all at Truffle!
